1. The service
proof.et is a tool that helps you check whether a mobile-banking or wallet payment confirmation is genuine. It is an informational tool to support your own decisions, it does not process payments, move money, or act as a bank or payment provider.
2. Verification is best-effort, not a guarantee
We work to make verification accurate and reliable, but results are provided on a best-effort basis and may be affected by the quality of the information you submit, provider availability, or fraud techniques we have not yet seen. A result from proof.et is not financial advice and not a guarantee that funds have or have not been received. You remain solely responsible for your transaction and business decisions.
3. Eligibility & accounts
- You must be able to form a binding contract and use the service lawfully.
- You create an account with a phone number and password, and we verify your phone number through Telegram. You are responsible for keeping your password and Telegram account secure and for all activity under your account.
- You agree to provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
4. Credits, billing & pricing
- Some features use credits. You purchase credits in advance and they are consumed as you verify payments.
- We aim to charge only for completed, billable verifications, as described in the app at the time of use.
- Purchased credits are non-refundable except where required by law or expressly stated by us.
- Prices and plans may change; changes apply to future purchases.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the service for any unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful purpose;
- Submit data you have no right to submit;
- Attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the service;
- Resell or redistribute the service without our written authorization.
6. Intellectual property
The proof.et app, brand, and content are owned by us or our licensors. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app for its intended purpose. Bank and provider names and logos belong to their respective owners and are used only to indicate compatibility.
7. Disclaimers
The service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, to the maximum extent permitted by law.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, proof.et is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from a transaction decision you make based on a verification result.
9. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms or to protect the service and its users. You may stop using the service at any time.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms. We will post the new version here and update the “Last updated” date. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
